The aim of this course is to give basic, up-to-date guidelines
on prophylaxis and the early diagnosis and treatment of hip
arthroplasty complications. These may include joint instability,
infection, DVT, periprosthetic fractures, leg length discrepancy,
heterotopic ossification, nerve and vessel damage as well as
soft tissue problems.
Live surgery, showing techniques and tips for THA procedures,
will be performed.

The programme is designed to instruct and educate, focusing
on three main topics that young spine surgeons might encounter
most frequently i.e. trauma, degenerative disease and deformity.
The Homolka Hospital has achieved a leading position in spine
surgery, with a special focus on degenerative spine conditions.
The IC will also feature a live surgery to demonstrate the
latest methods for dynamic spine stabilisation.
