The 1st Orthopaedic Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, "G. Papanikolaou” General Regional Hospital, in collaboration with the Orthopaedic & Traumatology Association of Macedonia & Thrace, are organizing a Training Seminar with the title "1st Seminar on Tendon Transfers of the Upper Limb on Cadaveric Specimens", on 12-14 February 2015 in Thessaloniki.

Tendon transfers are an excellent solution for injuries of nerves, tendons, cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. Thorough understanding and knowledge of the proper technique and indications are absolutely essential for achieving an optimal surgical outcome, since tendon transfers are the ultimate line of defence for the restoration of motion and functionality of a limb.

The 1st Seminar on Tendon Transfers aspires to provide this knowledge at an international level. Practical training on cadaveric limbs will provide participants with confidence, so as to meet the requirements of these highly demanding surgical procedures.

The Scientific Program will be held at the Centre for Dissemination of Research Results of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (KE.D.E.A., A.U.TH.) and the Training Program on cadaveric specimens will take place at the Laboratory of Descriptive Anatomy of the same University. If considered successful, our aim is to continue this training with recurring seminars every year.

Despite the sharp economic downturn of the country and its impact on all activity domains, we do believe that we should keep disseminating knowledge, and therefore we would really appreciate your substantial contribution to this effort through your active participation.

Should you need further information on the Seminar, please, contact the Seminar Secretariat by phone (+30 2310 226250) or by e-mail (premium.conf@gmail.com).

Awaiting your response.
